What is Silja Rock and why has it become such a popular phenomenon?
The answer should be summarized by someone outside, but we as organizers will briefly try to give you a small insight into our world. All with the hope that you will become a part of it. Since March 12, 1994, we have been on our way, or rather on a dare, forward, towards new adventures and experiences. Because that is what Silja Rock consists of. A long series of experiences packaged in small segments of approx. 1 hour each. Our journey officially begins when the boat leaves the quay (4:45 p.m.) from Värtahamnen in Stockholm with destination Olympic Terminal in Helsinki. But we really want to be able to spend as much time with you as possible, so with the good memory of the shipping company, we have been given permission to board M/S Symphony already from 13.30 so that the atmosphere will be at its peak.
3 Stages give a total of approx. 20 hours of live music! Add to that three bars with music from our awesome DJ's, and the 42 hours of the trip are pretty well covered with music in all its forms. Because that is exactly where we believe the key to success lies. The selection of music! We mix and match so that all of our roughly 2,500 guests will get some acts that they can take to heart. Hard Rock, Gothic Rock, Folk Rock, Glam Rock, Arena Rock, Bacon Rock and then a splash of disco, gives us a broad, happy, friendly and loving audience that goes beyond everything else in Swedish entertainment and makes Silja Rock what it is. Add a large selection of restaurants, bars, shopping and relaxation areas and you get: Party and Rock boat number ONE! Our hope is and always has been to offer our travelers some slightly stronger acts with greater appeal. To this we add guests' band wishes, mixed with acts we think will work in the context. So far we are very satisfied with what we have been able to deliver over the past years and this year's line-up really doesn't leave a mark!
